- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp Sunkrin Gold or a similar granulated sweetener
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 ½ cups of water
- A pinch of ground cloves (optional)
- A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Whisk all ingredients vigorously to ensure they are thoroughly combined and then add water. Spices such as garlic powder and chili add a lot of flavor and depth to recipes so do not be afraid of them.
Gently boil the ingredients at medium-high heat then reduce it to medium-low. Stir frequently as the sauce simmers for 20 minutes or until it slightly thickens.
Taste and adjust the cayenne pepper or sweetener if you like a sauce that is spicier or sweeter. If the result is thicker than it is intended to be, stir in additional water one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
